Amex GBT, short for American Express Global Business Travel, is a world-leading business travel management company dedicated to inspiring colleagues through the transformative power of travel. Known for its inclusive and collaborative culture, Amex GBT empowers employees to make meaningful impacts on the travel industry by fostering innovation and excellence in every aspect of its operations. As a vital player in the corporate travel sector, Amex GBT combines advanced technology, extensive global networks, and exceptional customer service to deliver customized travel solutions that meet the diverse needs of its clients around the world. The company champions a supportive work environment where diverse voices are valued, and every team member is encouraged to contribute to the company’s overall mission and success.
Amex GBT is currently seeking an Event Manager on a one-year contract basis. This role is embedded within the global events team and experience studio, which is instrumental in crafting and communicating the brand’s story through engaging events and activations. The Event Manager will be responsible for orchestrating medium to large-scale events, including trade shows and external engagements that align with Amex GBT’s business goals and global messaging. This role requires a detail-oriented, innovative thinker who thrives in delivering extraordinary in-person experiences. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating all event logistics, managing vendor relationships, and bridging collaborations across cross-functional teams to create seamless and memorable events.
In addition to overseeing the event lifecycle—from concept development and vendor selection to budget management and execution—the Event Manager will also be expected to maintain constant communication with executive stakeholders and ensure all event components meet the strategic objectives of the organization. This position requires expertise in dynamic project management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively. The role offers a competitive national base salary range from $88,200 to $163,800, commensurate with experience and location, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance. However, as this position is a contractor role, it does not include traditional employee benefits.
Amex GBT values adaptability and resilience, making this a great opportunity for candidates eager to join a high-performing global team in a fast-paced, matrixed organization. This position is ideal for driven individuals who enjoy cultivating partnerships, problem-solving creatively, and contributing to the growth of a global brand through impactful live events. By joining Amex GBT, the Event Manager gains access to a range of perks designed to support professional growth and promote a balanced lifestyle, including flexible benefits, travel perks, extensive learning resources, and association with global inclusion groups committed to diversity and workplace equity. Overall, this role offers a unique experience for those passionate about event management and the travel industry, set within a company that genuinely values innovation, inclusivity, and the power of travel to make a difference.
