Job Description

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, a globally recognized brand under Marriott International, is a premier hotel chain known for providing exceptional hospitality experiences since 1937. With over 400 communities worldwide, Sheraton creates welcoming environments that foster connection and belonging among guests and associates alike. As part of the Marriott International portfolio, the brand is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment, valuing the unique backgrounds and talents of all team members. Sheraton’s dedication to thoughtful service and engaging guest experiences has earned it a reputation as the world’s gathering place, a destination where meaningful connections are made and lasting memories created.

The Event Coordinator position at the Sheraton in Georgetown, Texas, is a full-time management role that offers an hourly pay range of $25.77 to $29.81 and eligibility for bonuses. This key role is responsible for preparing comprehensive event documentation and coordinating seamlessly with Sales, property departments, and customers to ensure a consistently high level of service through all phases of event execution — pre-event, event, and post-event. The role primarily manages less complex property events but requires keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills to guarantee every event runs smoothly from beginning to end.

The Event Coordinator acts as the crucial liaison between the field sales team and clients, ensuring communication is clear and continuous. Responsibilities include greeting customers at the start of events and handing off to Event Operations, verifying that hourly associates understand their event roles, and adhering strictly to all standards, policies, and procedures. Maintaining billing accuracy and conducting final client bill reviews are also part of the duties to safeguard financial integrity. The coordinator participates in customer meetings to address needs, monitors group room blocks and meeting spaces for small groups, and supports the sales and marketing functions by upselling products and services and assisting in forecasting event revenue.

Providing exceptional customer service is at the core of this role. The Event Coordinator encourages associates to maintain excellent guest relations, sets positive examples, and coordinates all event details effectively. They ensure their presence is felt by customers throughout the event lifecycle and work closely with supervisors to oversee the customer experience from file turnover through post-event follow-up. Handling guest complaints, soliciting feedback for continuous improvement, and actively participating in departmental meetings to emphasize guest satisfaction are essential functions. The role requires proactive problem-solving in collaboration with supervisors to address operational challenges and improve service performance.

Sheraton fosters an inclusive and supportive workplace culture where employees are empowered to do their best work and grow professionally. Joining the Sheraton family means becoming part of a global team dedicated to excellence in hospitality and creating unforgettable experiences for every guest. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about event management, customer service, and contributing to a vibrant and dynamic hotel environment.
