The role of Event Manager I at Maritz represents a critical client-facing position that supports onsite meetings at the client’s campus. This role demands exceptional coordination skills, as the Event Manager I orchestrates all logistical aspects of meetings while maintaining high service standards and fostering seamless collaboration between various internal and external partners. The position requires managing a variety of meetings, often of small to medium complexity, with a sharp focus on detail, client satisfaction, and task management. With extensive interaction across departments such as Catering, Facilities, Technology & AV, Executive Production, Security, Transportation, Janitorial, and third-party vendors, the Event Manager I acts as the primary client liaison to ensure that events align perfectly with program objectives and desired outcomes.
This on-site role offers a competitive total compensation range between $65,000 and $75,000, reflective of experience and qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2–4 years of experience in event or meeting management, hotel catering, convention services, or related fields
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
- Proven experience building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in G Suite and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to thrive in an agile, continuously changing environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Hospitality or related field preferred)
- 2–4 years of experience in event or meeting management, hotel catering, convention services, or related fields
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
- Proven experience building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional presentation style
- Proficiency in G Suite and Microsoft Office tools, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Ability to thrive in an agile, continuously changing environment
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary client contact for assigned meetings, managing logistics from planning through execution
- Coordinate and guide clients through the event planning process, ensuring timely and accurate communication of all details
- Manage a large volume of small to medium-complex meetings while maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Communicate meeting logistics and task assignments using internal systems and established processes
- Coordinate and attend site inspections as needed to support successful event delivery
- Collaborate closely with internal service partners including Catering, Facilities, Technology & AV, Executive Production, Security, Transportation, Janitorial, and third-party suppliers
- Maintain proactive, positive communication with clients to ensure clarity of expectations and overall satisfaction
