Job Description

The role of Event Manager with CSC LA is a full-time exempt position reporting directly to the Senior Director of Events, Senior Event Managers, and Senior Branch Manager. Located at various venues across Los Angeles such as SoFi Stadium, LA Coliseum, Dignity Health Sports Park, Rose Bowl, and others, the position offers an annual salary in the range of $70,304 to $72,000. This role is a crucial leadership position that entails managing event operations and crowd management plans for high-capacity venues across the city. The Event Manager acts as the primary liaison between CSC and its internal and external clients, ensuring that all event services are executed efficiently and to the highest standards.
The Event Manager will be directly responsible for developing staffing plans, deployment strategies, and operational safety guidelines in alignment with senior management directives. They will coordinate communication and briefing sessions with event staff, supervisors, and area directors, overseeing a team that can exceed 100 supervisors and staff during events. This role requires meticulous attention to detail in managing pre-event and post-event operational logistics, ensuring coordination between departments is optimal and aligned with client expectations.
Additionally, the Event Manager is expected to prepare all necessary documentation, manage uniform and equipment requests, and be physically present during major events to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues. The role demands flexibility in attending meetings and representing CSC professionally in client-facing scenarios. The Event Manager is also tasked with creating and updating continuity plans, operational manuals, and standard operating procedures that govern event management practices.
Close collaboration with the business development team ensures that event managers provide input on operational requirements for special events and unique projects. This includes budgeting, creating job postings in internal systems, and managing event timelines. Furthermore, the Event Manager drives creative initiatives to boost employee engagement through marketing and branding opportunities related to upcoming projects and events at assigned venues.
Successful candidates must demonstrate strong competency in technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and CSC’s proprietary workforce management systems. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Relevant experience in event planning, event management, public safety, or security operations
- Prior experience working in live events
- Ability to manage over 200 staff
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Proficiency in CSC systems including WISH, ClickUp, Monday.com, SORT, and internal LMS tools
- Ability to maintain good client/customer relations and work in a team setting
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make sound decisions quickly
- Ability to walk significant distances, including stairs
- Willingness to work hours beyond event times for preparation
- Complete mandated industry trainings
- Ability to travel as needed

Job Duties
- Develop staffing plans, deployments, and event operations safety guidelines as directed by senior management
- Communicate and brief event staff, event supervisors, and event area directors
- Manage over 100 supervisors and staff responsible for crowd management activities
- Coordinate all event operational details before and after each event
- Interface with clients and team representatives to create staffing and operational event plans
- Prepare paperwork, ensure uniform and equipment requests are submitted, and complete assigned tasks
- Be present at all major events to mitigate potential issues
- Coordinate various event operational planning timelines
- Attend meetings and serve as the face of the organization during client events
- Create, manage, or edit event manager continuity plans, venue operation manuals, and standard operating procedures
- Work closely with business development to provide operational needs for special events
- Create cost estimates, create jobs in WISH, and manage operational timelines
- Drive creative initiatives and employee engagement with marketing and branding opportunities
- Respond to inquiries regarding company policies and programs
- Travel to various job sites to provide field assistance
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management
