Job Description

Octane is a distinguished organization dedicated to advancing the Southern California tech and medtech ecosystem by fostering connections among people, resources, and capital. Established in 2002, Octane has become the central convening body for innovation in this vibrant region, hosting seven signature annual events that attract leaders in ophthalmology, aesthetics, cardiovascular, neuro, and other technological fields. These events, coupled with monthly programs and over 50 annual partners, strengthen the network and collaboration opportunities across the industry. Beyond convening, Octane supports the growth of technology companies through its LaunchPad SBDC accelerator, which has assisted over 2,000 companies since 2010, resulting in the creation of nearly 37,000 high-paying jobs and more than $11 billion in capital infusion. The organization also addresses capital access challenges for startups and scale-ups, offering solutions through venture capital, private investors, and peer groups for CEOs and marketing leaders. Additionally, Octane serves as a global hub for AI innovation and analytics, offering predictive insights to investors and driving decision intelligence.

Octane is now looking for an experienced Signature Event Manager to oversee their master event strategies and project plans for select high-profile signature events. This position involves conceptualizing, managing, and executing comprehensive event plans to enhance revenue, attendance, and return on investment across their flagship conferences and forums. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial oversight of events, developing compelling content including speakers and ancillary programs, and scaling events to maximize impact and engagement within the Southern California tech ecosystem. Building and nurturing strategic relationships with industry stakeholders including partners, physicians, investors, entrepreneurs, and universities will be integral to this role. The Signature Event Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams to align event goals with organizational objectives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality experiences in both virtual and physical formats. Managing vendor relationships, contracts, and partner events will also be key components of this role. This hybrid position is based in Newport Beach, CA, and offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, 401K, and unlimited paid time off. Octane is committed to diversity and inclusive hiring practices, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds to contribute to their mission of creating more than 55,000 high-paying tech jobs in Southern California by 2030.
