Job Description
First Batch is a distinguished event management company specializing in orchestrating high-end weddings and private events, committed to delivering exceptional experiences that reflect the unique vision of their clients. With an emphasis on quality, precision, and an immersive guest experience, First Batch operates within the vibrant and competitive market of event planning, ensuring every occasion is flawlessly executed from inception to completion. The company is renowned for its attentive client service, intricate logistical coordination, and seamless communication across all stakeholders involved in an event, from vendors to front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
The Event Manager plays a critical role within First Batch as the primary coordinator responsible for managing client interactions post-contract and providing comprehensive day-of-event oversight. Reporting directly to the Director of Events, this role requires an individual who can maintain composure under pressure, navigate complex event logistics, and foster a collaborative environment among team members to ensure events run seamlessly. The Event Manager is entrusted with the implementation of event execution procedures that align with the First Batch vision and standards, overseeing all facets of event planning including vendor coordination, floor plan management, and event staffing logistics.
Key responsibilities for the Event Manager encompass ensuring all client questions and issues are proactively anticipated and addressed, maintaining exceptional guest engagement throughout the event, and supervising both front-of-house and back-of-house operations to deliver stellar service. This position demands highly developed communication skills, as the manager serves as the main point of contact for clients from booking through event completion, managing their expectations, resolving concerns expediently, and maximizing revenue opportunities via strategic upselling of event enhancements.
The role also entails conducting pre-shift meetings, monitoring staff performance during events, attending cross-departmental meetings for operational alignment, and liaising with external vendors to coordinate all logistical needs such as deliveries and pickups. A background in event management, particularly within the wedding industry, is strongly preferred to ensure familiarity with the detailed nature of such events and the high standards expected by clientele.
Compensation for the Event Manager position ranges between $75,000 and $85,000 annually, supplemented by gratuities and performance bonuses, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required. The company also supports its employees with significant benefits including employer-covered deductible plans, paid time off, sick and safe leave, floating holidays, and exclusive food and wine discounts at affiliated venues, cultivating a rewarding and supportive work environment. First Batch is committed to inclusive hiring practices, ensuring equal employment opportunities free from discrimination or harassment of any kind, promoting diversity and respect within its workforce.
