The Event Manager at Hyatt Greenville is entrusted with the responsibility of managing and facilitating a variety of events, ranging from corporate meetings and conferences to social celebrations and special occasions. The Event Manager acts as the liaison between the Sales and Catering departments, ensuring a seamless turnover and outstanding service throughout the event lifecycle. This includes everything from confirming contract details such as deposit schedules, room block release dates, and rooming list deadlines to coordinating the precise arrangements and logistical elements for each client's function. The manager also prepares comprehensive event documentation and liaises with all relevant hotel departments to guarantee flawless execution and a consistent, high-level service experience.

Job Requirements
- College degree preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and evenings

Job Duties
- Responsible for servicing groups turned over from sales and catering
- Reconfirm and adhere to all details in sales contract, including deposit schedules, room cut off dates, room block release dates, and rooming list due dates in a timely fashion
- Coordinate arrangements and details for clients' functions
- Possess good attention to detail, work well under pressure, and balance time and work with deadlines
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, hotel departments, and customer to ensure high-level service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event phases
- Ensure all hotel events have a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales
- Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue through up-selling and offering event enhancements
- Maintain effective communication within the department, be responsive to training and instruction, and inform management of concerns, suggestions and ideas
- Stay aware of issues concerning sales, catering, banquets, and hotel operations
- Follow through with information distributed to operational departments to meet meeting planner expectations
