Job Description

Veterans Inc. stands as the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England, operating with a profound commitment to those who have served their country. The organization's mission reflects a strong belief that since Veterans were there when we needed them, we must be there now that they need us. This powerful ethos guides every initiative, program, and service provided by Veterans Inc., ensuring comprehensive support and advocacy tailored to the unique needs of the Veteran community. With headquarters and operational offices throughout New England, Veterans Inc. plays a vital role in the lives of thousands of Veterans, offering housing, employment assistance, legal aid, and a multitude of supportive services crafted to foster stability, dignity, and self-sufficiency.

Within this impactful context, Veterans Inc. is seeking to fill the position of Event Manager within its Development Office. This on-site role is ideal for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about supporting mission-driven community engagement. Reporting to the Director of Fund Development, the Event Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of organizational events that align with agency-wide goals and enhance community involvement.

The Event Manager will play a crucial role in advancing the organization’s fundraising and outreach efforts by managing the full lifecycle of events. This includes everything from initial concept development, venue selection, vendor negotiation, and logistical arrangements to on-site coordination and post-event evaluation. The position requires not only strong project management skills but also an ability to work cross-functionally with various internal departments such as Programs, Operations, and Communications. As a mentor and leader, the Event Manager will guide the Event Coordinator, delegating tasks and ensuring successful teamwork to drive event success.

Beyond logistics and execution, the Event Manager will have fiscal responsibilities, managing budgets, processing invoices, and monitoring expenses to maintain financial accountability. Partnering with the Communications team, the Event Manager will also be instrumental in digital promotion, social media campaigns, and the creation of print materials, maximizing event visibility and engagement. On event days, the manager ensures seamless operations with guest check-in, vendor oversight, and real-time troubleshooting.

A key component of the role includes compiling and analyzing attendee data, feedback, and key performance metrics to produce comprehensive post-event reports. These insights will inform recommendations for future events, helping the organization continually improve its outreach and fundraising outcomes. Moreover, maintaining organization and readiness of event equipment and supplies supports the smooth execution of each event.

This position requires a strategic thinker with strong multitasking abilities, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a passion for community service. Veterans Inc. offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance through BCBS, employer-paid short and long-term disability and life insurance, a $2500 medical opt-out program, a retirement plan with a matched contribution, flexible spending accounts, a tuition reimbursement program, and paid parental leave. Veterans Inc. is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to inclusive hiring practices and providing support to all applicants throughout the recruitment process.

By joining Veterans Inc. as an Event Manager, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of Veterans while advancing your career in event management within a supportive, mission-driven environment. This position offers the chance to blend your expertise in event planning with your dedication to a worthy cause, contributing meaningfully to the community and the organization’s vital mission.
