The Events Manager at Engage! Cleveland plays a vital role within this vibrant and purpose-driven organization. As a key member of a small but efficient team, the Events Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating a diverse portfolio of events throughout the year. This hybrid-position offers a flexible work schedule typically split between 2-3 days in the office at 3135 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH, and 2-3 days working remotely from home. In this role, the Events Manager will oversee the management of approximately 10 signature events annually, including multi-day and hybrid in-person/virtual formats. Key responsibilities include coordinating event logistics from start to finish, managing event calendars, securing venues, engaging speakers, crafting event materials such as agendas and promotional content, and providing on-site and virtual technical support. Familiarity with online platforms like Microsoft Teams, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems like Neom, is essential.

Additionally, the Events Manager supports the organization’s leadership by managing board committees and the leadership council. This entails preparing meeting agendas, taking detailed notes, facilitating follow-up tasks, and coordinating volunteer efforts. The role also actively contributes to marketing efforts by assisting with social media content, graphic design using Canva, and campaign coordination.

On any given day, an Events Manager at Engage! Cleveland may be simultaneously managing sponsors’ marketing benefits, tracking in-kind donations, monitoring post-event feedback, and representing the organization at community engagements. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree preferably in event management nonprofit management or related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite social media platforms and Teams
  • Familiarity with event platforms and CRM systems like Neom
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior time management interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of constituents
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Ability to provide public speaking at events

Job Duties

  • Manage the planning execution and evaluation of 10 signature events per year including multi-day and in-person and virtual programming
  • Provide event management support for multiple events including securing venues speakers ordering food and coordinating virtual event kits
  • Host virtual events using Microsoft Teams including scheduling calendar invites and providing technical support
  • Create event materials such as agendas speaker lists PowerPoints remarks reminder and thank you emails
  • Deliver public speaking duties at events including speaker introductions and remarks
  • Manage event calendar including planning promotion and execution of events and programs
  • Provide post-event evaluations including budget finalization recommendations and satisfaction tracking
