Job Description
Rock Events is a premier team of experienced event professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional event production, business travel, and hospitality services primarily for Rocket Companies, along with venue sales for some of Detroit's most sought-after event spaces. With a heritage rooted in the Rock Family of Companies, Rock Events has been a trusted partner for hosting many of Detroit’s largest, most memorable gatherings for over 15 years. Their reputation for excellence stems from a commitment to innovation, creativity, and flawless execution across a wide range of events, including corporate meetings, incentive travel, experiential activations, award shows, charity functions, and social parties. Rock Events combines strategic thinking with strong client partnership to create immersive experiences that resonate culturally and emotionally, ensuring every event exceeds expectations.
As an Event Manager at Rock Events, you will play a crucial role in conceptualizing, planning, and executing a variety of special events that captivate and inspire. This role demands a high level of creativity, exceptional event design skills, and strategic insight to transform client visions into unforgettable experiences. Your responsibilities will include managing client relationships to assess their goals, timelines, and budgets while coordinating all aspects of event logistics such as food and beverage selections, audiovisual needs, transportation, entertainment, décor, and venue arrangements. You will be responsible for proposing event themes and design elements that align with the client's objectives and brand identity.
The Event Manager will create and maintain a detailed planning cadence and timeline, ensuring seamless communication among team members, vendors, clients, and leadership throughout the event lifecycle. From concept development to on-site execution, you will produce comprehensive run-of-show documents and oversee event expenditures, ensuring financial accountability and accuracy. Beyond traditional events, this role also involves sourcing locations for incentive trips and managing the registration process for various events. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing volunteer workforces, handling stage management duties, and collaborating closely with the graphic design team to develop emails, presentations, printed materials, and post-event surveys.
Leadership and mentorship responsibilities include supervising Event Production interns, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Successful candidates will bring at least three years of full-time event planning experience with a strong emphasis on event design and décor, ideally within creative production, experiential events, and brand activations. A strong creative vision, storytelling ability, and a knack for leveraging trends and technology to craft culturally relevant experiences are essential to succeed in this role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with meticulous organizational abilities, are critical. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, will support your workflow efficiency.
Joining Rock Events means becoming part of a team that values its members as the cornerstone of its strategy, innovation, and growth. They prioritize not only your professional success but also your personal health and well-being, extending comprehensive perks and health benefits that support you and your family’s peace of mind. This is a full-time opportunity where your creativity and project management expertise will help shape extraordinary events that leave a lasting impact, while being supported by a company culture committed to inclusion, respect, and continuous improvement.
