San Jose Municipal Golf Course is a renowned public 18-hole golf facility located in the picturesque South Bay area. This course is well-known for offering a high-quality golfing experience complemented by a state-of-the-art driving range. The range features a lighted double-deck structure with 60 hitting stations, all powered by TopTracer Technologies, making it a modern hub for golfers of all skill levels. The golf course and its amenities cater to a wide array of guests, from casual players to professional golf enthusiasts, and serve as a community gathering place for events and activities. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Event Manager to join the dynamic team at San Jose Municipal Golf Course. This role revolves around the strategic planning, coordination, and seamless execution of events hosted primarily at our popular driving range and associated facilities. As the Event Manager, your key responsibilities will involve coordinating a diverse portfolio of events including public, corporate, and private functions, where you will work to enhance the guest experience and promote community engagement. You will collaborate closely with clients to tailor events to their objectives and expectations, ensuring all logistics from setup to breakdown are meticulously handled. This position also involves coordinating with our food and beverage team to elevate event offerings and support overall golf operations including special golf events and daily course setup.
The role demands exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to manage multiple tasks and high-pressure situations effectively. Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential to efficiently oversee event planning and marketing efforts. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, is required to accommodate event schedules and maximize the facility’s community offerings. Job Requirements
- Event planning experience of at least 2 years
- Ability to work in person at the San Jose Municipal Golf Course
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift event equipment
- Willingness to undergo criminal background checks
- Good communication skills
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage services preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning, management, or a related field is preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage high-pressure situations
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage services and familiarity with golf operations is a plus

Job Duties
- Plan and execute a diverse range of public, corporate, and private events at the driving range and associated facilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their event objectives and provide tailored solutions
- Manage event logistics including setup, breakdown, staffing, and ensuring all details align with client expectations
- Coordinate with food and beverage services to enhance event offerings and ensure positive dining experiences during events
- Oversee reservations for community and outdoor patio events, maintaining a flexible and responsive approach to guests’ needs
- Promote events through various marketing channels to maximize attendance and engagement
- Maintain communication with vendors and community partners to ensure successful collaborations and event execution
