Proudly operating as part of Gaylord Hotels, this establishment offers a unique blend of luxury accommodations, extensive meeting and event spaces, and immersive guest experiences. As a full-service resort and convention center, it serves a diverse clientele ranging from corporate meetings and conferences to social events and large-scale gatherings. The property is renowned for its commitment to delivering thoughtful, big-hearted service through its dedicated team members, called STARs, who are creative, entrepreneurial, and driven to ensure guests have extraordinary experiences.
Joining Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center means aligning with a broader brand supported by Marriott International's rich history of hospitality excellence. The resort offers a dynamic work environment emphasizing career growth, well-being, and community inclusion. Employees, known as STARs, benefit from comprehensive development opportunities and a supportive culture that values diverse backgrounds, talents, and experiences.
We are seeking an experienced Event Manager to join our management team dedicated to delivering seamless and outstanding events at our property. This full-time management role offers an annual salary range of $70,000 to $91,000 with bonus eligibility, representing a fantastic opportunity for growth within an internationally respected hospitality brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing all event-related documentation and working closely with sales, property departments, and customers to ensure consistent service quality throughout every stage of the event lifecycle including pre-event, event day, and post-event phases.
The Event Manager will primarily oversee events of average complexity, ensuring smooth transitions between sales and service teams, and identifying opportunities to enhance revenue through upselling and creative event enhancements. This role requires exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to coordinate logistics, manage group room blocks, handle billing accuracy, and address operational challenges proactively. The ideal candidate should have experience in leading event teams and collaborating effectively across departments to provide an outstanding customer experience.
Beyond administrative and operational responsibilities, this position is centered on customer engagement, requiring the Event Manager to make their presence known during event processes, respond promptly to client concerns, and foster excellent guest relations. The role also includes supporting sales and marketing functions by assisting in sales forecasting and revenue optimization strategies. In addition to managing events, the candidate will participate in site inspections and play a crucial role in upholding Marriott's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
As part of Marriott International's inclusive workforce, the Event Manager will contribute to a culture that embraces diversity while maintaining high standards for service and operational excellence. This position supports a work environment where associates are empowered to grow personally and professionally, with access to an extensive range of benefits designed to enhance well-being, career prospects, and work-life balance.
The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center offers a remarkable platform for those passionate about event management to engage in meaningful work that impacts both the organization's success and guest satisfaction. Those who join our team can expect continuous opportunities to develop leadership skills, influence event experiences positively, and contribute to a global team that celebrates innovation and collaboration.
