In addition to logistical coordination, the Event Planner identifies opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling products and services, enhancing the event experience with creative solutions tailored to each group’s needs. They are responsible for managing group room blocks and meeting spaces, reviewing billing accuracy with clients, and staying abreast of current trends in event management and design. Exceptional customer service is a cornerstone of this role, with the Event Planner expected to maintain a visible presence with customers, resolve issues proactively, and solicit feedback to foster continuous improvement.

Leading event management teams through formal pre- and post-event meetings, supporting sales and marketing in revenue forecasting, and conducting human resources activities such as coaching and performance feedback are also key responsibilities. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to develop alternative solutions to operational challenges. At Westin, Event Planners are part of a vibrant team passionate about wellness and guest satisfaction, encouraged to bring their enthusiasm and dedication to work every day.
