Job Description
Green Mtn. Concert Services, Inc. (GMCS) has nearly two decades of esteemed experience specializing in unarmed, onsite security solutions tailored for high-profile special events, venues, and educational institutions throughout the Northeast. As a security provider deeply rooted in guest service, professionalism, and a commitment to creating safe environments, GMCS stands out as a leader in the security services industry. The company manages safety and security for more than a thousand events annually, emphasizing the continual development and support of its Security Guard staff. This focus on their personnel cultivates a team of highly skilled, dependable security professionals recognized for setting quality standards across the region.
The Event Manager position at GMCS carries significant responsibilities in overseeing the comprehensive event security operations for the company’s events. This includes managing pre-event preparations, active event supervision, and post-event wrap-ups to ensure smooth and secure operations throughout. The role further involves risk management, loss prevention, fire and life safety compliance, and security or safety training to uphold stringent safety policies and protocols. Moreover, the Event Manager is tasked with conducting investigations, preparing and administering budgets, and ensuring emergency preparedness and disaster prevention measures are effectively in place.
Personnel management also forms a critical component of this leadership role as the Event Manager is expected to motivate, manage, and lead security teams on site. Collaboration and relationship-building with facility partners and local, state, and federal authorities such as fire and police departments are essential duties, carried out through training programs and regular strategic meetings. Additionally, the role requires developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures and innovative security initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and maintain high safety standards.
In terms of specific duties, the Event Manager will supervise access control, conduct thorough site patrols for hazards or security breaches, respond promptly to emergencies including fire, medical crises, bomb threats, hazardous material incidents, and adverse weather events. This role demands the preparation of detailed incident reports and logs to document activities and safeguard client property and personnel.
Successful candidates will possess a BA or BS degree in a related field or show equivalent experience, alongside at least three to five years in event security or related work. The capacity to lead by example, effectively manage crises under pressure, and operate with minimal supervision is critical. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, perform frequent walking or standing, occasionally lift moderate weights, and be willing to travel as necessary.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity to join a well-respected and rapidly growing company committed to excellence in security services, backed by strong community ties and professional integrity. The Event Manager role is pivotal in maintaining the safety culture that GMCS promotes through every event and interaction with their valued clients and partners.
