Job Description

Groovin' Gourmets is the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, a Richmond-based hospitality group serving the greater Richmond and Hampton Roads regions. Trolley Hospitality Companies specialize in delivering fresh, chef-crafted meals and seamless service for a wide range of events including corporate functions, weddings, and social events of all sizes. Known for their commitment to quality and excellence, Groovin' Gourmets has built a reputation for exceptional catering services that elevate every occasion. The company's philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that their success begins with their people. Driven by a shared purpose of delivering happiness not only to their customers but also to their community and their team, they focus on fostering a supportive and positive workplace where everyone's contributions are valued and encouraged. They abide by strong core values known as The Trolley Way: no excuses, doing the right thing, maintaining a can-do attitude, always growing, helping first and being part of the solution, and upholding transparency and honesty with no nonsense.

In the role of Event Liaison, you will be the vital on-site point of contact during weddings and other large-scale events. This is a dynamic position that requires a calm, cool, and collected demeanor even when the event gets hectic. As an Event Liaison, you will focus primarily on client communication, maintaining constant awareness of the event's flow, and supporting the Event Captain to ensure that all plans are executed smoothly with service standards upheld at every stage. Your role includes reviewing event details ahead of time to fully understand client expectations, timelines, and priorities, attending event walk-throughs for larger or higher-touch events, and maintaining a professional, approachable presence on-site for clients, venues, planners, and vendors. You will remain on-site from staff arrival until you are released by the Event Captain, ensuring everything runs seamlessly. Your problem-solving skills will be tested as you handle client inquiries, concerns, and escalate operational matters as necessary. Moreover, you will be proactive in identifying potential issues, responding swiftly, and communicating effectively with the relevant team members to resolve matters promptly. You will also provide meaningful feedback and insights to the team after events, helping to continuously improve service quality. This role is especially suited for someone who enjoys weddings and celebrations and who takes pride in making every event memorable and flawless. The role primarily involves working at event sites with extended periods of standing and walking and may require assisting with physical tasks and lifting up to 50 pounds. This position offers an hourly wage of $20-$26 based on experience and is generally scheduled on weekends with occasional weekday commitments for walk-throughs. Benefits include a 401(k) retirement plan with company match after one year of employment and employee discounts across all Trolley Hospitality brands.
