Job Description

Mercor is a pioneering AI data company focused on organizing human intelligence to advance the AI economy. With a mission to bridge human expertise and cutting-edge AI models, Mercor has established itself as a leader in this niche, employing millions of domain experts who collectively earn over $4 million per day by training frontier AI models. The company’s proprietary APEX benchmark family evaluates AI's tangible influence on professional work, providing unique insights that drive industry standards. Furthermore, Mercor Enterprise extends these capabilities to Fortune 500 companies, empowering them to capture and leverage the expertise of their top talent by translating human knowledge directly into operational AI agents.

Founded as an innovative tech firm specializing in artificial intelligence and human data integration, Mercor has emerged as a profitable Series C startup valued at $10 billion. The company operates from strategic locations including San Francisco, New York City, and London, where its teams work collaboratively in-office five days a week. This commitment to in-person collaboration nurtures a dynamic and fast-paced environment where employees work alongside leading researchers, operators, and AI companies at the forefront of technological evolution. Mercor’s culture is defined by ambition, depth of commitment, and a drive to redefine societal systems through AI advancements.

The Role:

Mercor is seeking an experienced and strategic Events Manager to lead its event planning and execution with full ownership. Events form one of the company’s most important channels—it is where Mercor builds meaningful relationships with frontier AI labs, enterprise customers, recruits top-tier talent, and fosters internal community. As an Events Manager, you will be instrumental in setting the strategy, upholding the quality, and driving execution across a broad range of events including proprietary conferences, external industry gatherings like NeurIPS and ICML, executive dinners, recruiting hackathons, and impactful internal offsites.

This role blends strategic vision with operational excellence: you will decide which events align best with Mercor’s goals, determine optimal formats, and curate audiences who can benefit from and contribute to Mercor's AI ecosystem. You will lead a junior events and administrative team that supports your initiatives while maintaining direct ownership of execution details such as vendor management and cross-departmental coordination. A key component of your work will involve partnering closely with marketing, recruiting, and workplace teams to convert event attendance into lasting relationships, pipeline growth, and recruitment outcomes, ensuring measurable impact and continuous improvement through repeatable processes and data-driven insights.

Candidates for this role should bring 6 to 8 years of experience in events, field marketing, or experiential roles, ideally servicing technical or executive audiences. You must possess a strong, well-founded perspective on what makes events memorable and impactful, with the confidence to advocate for high standards. Success in this position requires entrepreneurial spirit, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced contexts. Ideal candidates are polished professionals comfortable interacting with senior executives, founders, and lab leaders, and have a track record of turning ideas into well-executed programs. Familiarity with AI ecosystems, design sensibility, and previous success in creating signature events are highly desirable.

Mercor offers a competitive compensation range of $160,000 to $200,000, with an attractive benefits package including bi-annual performance bonuses, equity grants, relocation and housing bonuses, meal stipends, wellness reimbursements, and comprehensive health coverage, ensuring support for its employees both professionally and personally.
