Job Description
ABM (NYSE: ABM) is one of the world’s largest providers of facility services and solutions, dedicated to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments. With its expansive portfolio covering janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, HVAC and mechanical, landscape and turf, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and mission critical solutions, ABM operates globally with over 100,000 team members serving more than 20,000 clients. These clients span diverse industries including commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and entertainment venues. Founded in 1909, ABM has cultivated a strong heritage of performance and innovation, maintaining an annualized revenue nearing $8 billion, and operating across 350-plus offices throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations.
The role offered at ABM is a vital one within the event labor team, primarily focused on supporting all arrangements of furniture and event equipment requests for various environments such as training rooms, common areas, conference rooms, cafes, and outdoor amenity spaces. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who will manage the entire work order lifecycle according to both internal and external Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Key responsibilities include creating work orders as needed, deploying the team effectively for work order pickup, handling check-ins and check-outs, documenting work through pictures and notes, and ensuring proper closure of work orders.
An essential aspect of the role is the verification of space capacities in all set styles across training rooms and common spaces at each local site, ensuring compliance with event safety standards and fire code regulations. The position demands proactive communication and timely response to all event-related emails, chimes, texts, or calls and participation in internal and external weekly team meetings.
Additionally, the role involves the stewardship of event storage areas, maintaining cleanliness, organization, palletization, proper labeling, and ensuring all event inventory returns to the correct storage following each event. This process encompasses signing items in and out, logging damaged or broken equipment for accurate inventory tracking and suitable placement, inspecting equipment for damages post-use, verifying inventory lists, and communicating supply needs or equipment removals effectively.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide exceptional customer service consistently while performing janitorial tasks with a clear understanding of the team’s priorities: event setups and strikes take precedence, followed by facility management tasks, and lastly janitorial support. Physical demands require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and to operate cleaning equipment including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
This is a flexible shift role operating Monday through Friday, with hours adapting to event schedules that may commence as early as 6 am and extend as late as 7 pm. Candidates must demonstrate diligence, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating cooperatively within a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook is required, and experience with work order systems is considered a plus.
Working with ABM offers a unique opportunity to join a global, environmentally conscious company that values diversity and inclusion and is committed to equal opportunity employment. Team members benefit from an environment that supports reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities and participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify program to ensure employment eligibility. ABM is also proud to be a military-friendly employer, providing access to world-class training and career opportunities tailored for those transitioning from military service.
Join ABM to make a meaningful impact on the spaces and places that matter most while advancing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment. For more information and to apply, ABM directs all candidates to their official website at www.abm.com.
