The role of Event Coordinator at Michaels is a dynamic and engaging position based in the DEN-ARAPAHOE, CO store. The Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating various events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in event coordination or retail environment
- experience working with children
- ability to stand for long periods
- ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves
- good written and verbal communication skills
- ability to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously
- proficiency in basic computer and administrative tasks
- ability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings as required
- compliance with federal, state, and local job-related legal requirements

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes
- engage with clients of all ages to create fun and creative environments
- demonstrate and instruct participants in completing craft projects and activities like face painting
- facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards
- communicate event details with clients and store teams
- complete administrative tasks including answering emails, phone calls, and paperwork
- adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs
- create backup or emergency plans for events
- ensure client satisfaction for all scheduled events
- uphold store cleanliness and safety standards before and after events
- help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions
- provide fast and friendly checkout experience
- promote Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments
- educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
- assist with Omni channel processes including Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
- participate in truck unloading, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes
- complete merchandise recovery and maintenance
- perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties
- support shrink and safety programs
- adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies
- interact respectfully and positively with customers and team members
- cross-train in custom framing selling and production
- participate in daily store cleanliness activities including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom maintenance
- perform other duties as assigned
