Job Description
The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents and visitors by offering well-maintained recreational facilities and organized community events. Located at 102 Public Square in Clarksville, this governmental entity plays a pivotal role in managing parks, community centers, and rental facilities designed to promote outdoor activities, social interaction, and cultural enrichment. With a commitment to service excellence, the department recruits motivated individuals who are passionate about community engagement and facility management. The current opening is for a part-time position within the Parks and Recreation division, which operates on a flexible schedule to accommodate various community events and activities. The salary rate for this role is $14.18 per hour, making it an attractive opportunity for individuals seeking part-time employment in a dynamic public service environment.
The role of the Facility Rental Supervisor involves on-site supervision and oversight of rental facilities, acting as the primary liaison between renters and the Facility Promotion Supervisor. This position is critical in ensuring that all rental activities operate smoothly, safely, and in accordance with established policies and procedures. The supervisor is responsible for checking the safety and condition of facilities prior to events, managing lights and locks, ensuring cleanliness and preparedness of equipment and public areas, and monitoring event operations to guarantee client satisfaction. This position demands flexibility, strong customer service skills, and the ability to resolve unforeseen issues efficiently. Although technical knowledge and experience with audio-visual equipment are considered advantageous, they are not essential prerequisites for this role. The Facility Rental Supervisor is expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers, city employees, volunteers, and the general public. This position also requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, which aligns with the varied timing of community events. Given that this is a temporary or seasonal position, it does not include traditional employee benefits but offers valuable experience in event supervision and municipal facility management, ideal for individuals interested in public service or recreational administration.
