The current opportunity at Gaylord Hotels is for a full-time Event Management professional located at the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Aurora, Colorado. This management role offers an hourly wage range of $28.35 to $30.27 and includes eligibility for bonus incentives. The role involves managing and coordinating all elements associated with event execution, covering the entire lifecycle of an event from initial planning to final exit strategies.

The Event Management professional acts as a crucial liaison between clients and operational departments to ensure seamless delivery of services in alignment with client expectations. This includes verifying that all hotel products and services meet agreed-upon standards and that logistical aspects such as lighting, temperature, audiovisual equipment, and room configurations align perfectly with event requirements. Utilizing industry-standard software tools, this role is responsible for generating essential documentation like banquet event orders, pass-on reports, and post-convention evaluation reports that support flawless event operations.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in event management or related professional area
  • or bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related major
  • 1 year experience in event management or related professional area
  • strong communication skills
  • proficiency in event management software
  • ability to work full-time

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • manages the execution of all aspects of events including planning, day-to-day coordination and exit strategies
  • serves as meeting planning advocate and liaison to operational departments
  • verifies on-site delivery of hotel products and services according to group plans
  • utilizes software for generation of program documents including banquet event orders and reports
  • advises clients on event status and coordinates necessary changes
  • maintains program knowledge by attending planning meetings and reviewing event orders prior to group arrival
  • partners with conference planning team to identify and resolve issues
  • attends planning visits and internal meetings related to security and production
  • proactively resolves potential meeting or room set issues
  • utilizes resources to meet client requests
  • verifies room requirements such as lighting, temperature, AV equipment and setup
  • delivers excellent customer service throughout the event experience
  • coordinates and communicates event details verbally and in writing
  • responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
  • works to continually improve customer service by integrating feedback
