Situated at the vibrant location of 201 Waterfront St, National Harbor, Maryland, this hotel offers an extraordinary environment where creativity and thoughtful service converge. Known for its extraordinary events and stunning facilities, Gaylord Hotels brings together people in a way few others can, offering comprehensive career opportunities beyond traditional hotel roles. As part of Marriott International, the organization values diverse backgrounds and fosters an inclusive work environment, upholding equal opportunity principles and nurturing the unique talents and experiences of its team members. Benefits and support at Gaylord Hotels are designed to empower employees' well-being, family needs, and career progression, ensuring a holistic approach to employee satisfaction and growth.

This full-time Management position, located on-site at the National Harbor property, serves as a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of events. With a competitive hourly rate ranging from $28.35 to $30.27 and bonus eligibility, this role demands excellence in event planning, coordination, and client advocacy. The Event Manager is the lynchpin in delivering congruent services between the clients, hotel operational departments, and conference planning teams. Charged with managing every aspect of events, from initial planning and day-to-day coordination to exit strategies, the Event Manager ensures that all hotel products and services are delivered according to the client’s expectations and contract specifications. This includes keen oversight of event logistics, client communication, and proactive problem-solving.

Central to the role is the use of advanced event management software to generate essential program documents such as pass-on reports, Banquet Event Orders, post-convention reports, and change logs. The manager continually updates program knowledge by participating in planning meetings, conference calls, and reviewing group resumes and BEOs prior to the arrival of groups. Collaboration with the conference planning team is essential to identify and resolve potential issues before they affect event success.

The Event Manager attends key planning visits, welcome receptions, tie-down meetings, and internal coordination meetings on topics such as security, parking, or production to maintain strong communication and operational readiness. A strong focus on client satisfaction is evident through delivering excellent customer service, handling guest problems or complaints with expertise, and enhancing the overall client experience by suggesting alternatives and integrating feedback into service improvements. Ensuring all room requirements—lighting, temperature, audiovisual equipment, and room setups—meet client expectations is a daily priority.

This role represents an exciting and challenging opportunity for individuals passionate about event management, client engagement, and operational excellence within a spectacular hotel setting. Those who thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and are committed to providing thoughtful, big-hearted service will find this position rewarding and full of growth potential.
