The position of Event Executive with Octagon is tailored for a motivated individual interested in event planning and experiential marketing, specifically supporting initiatives for a Home Improvement client. This role is instrumental in driving marketing programs that create consumer engagement and boost sales at points of sale through memorable, well-executed events and workshops. The Event Executive will be responsible for coordinating Grand Opening store events and other miscellaneous in-store activities, while also supporting promotional efforts tied to the client’s workshop platform, including sponsorship activations and related events. This role involves a dynamic collaboration with internal Octagon teams, client representatives, and external agency partners to ensure smooth execution and alignment with the client’s objectives.
Key responsibilities include managing vendor relationships, overseeing event logistics such as catering, security, staffing, and shipping, and producing essential documentation like event guidebooks and activation recaps. The Event Executive must exhibit strong project management skills, balancing strict timetables and budgets while maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders. The role demands multitasking abilities, problem-solving acumen, and interpersonal skills to work effectively across diverse teams and external partners. Candidates should also demonstrate enthusiasm for entertainment culture and be capable of supervising and leading junior staff when necessary.
This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, is overtime-eligible, and provides a salary of $40,000. The role requires flexibility to travel domestically, including weekends and holidays as needed, with anticipated travel of 20-45 percent. Job Requirements
- at least 1 year of professional related experience in event planning and execution
- excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong project management skills with the ability to handle projects on strict timelines and budgets
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- ability to stand for up to or more than eight hours at a time
- flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed
Job Qualifications
- a passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
- at least 1 year of professional related experience in event planning and execution
- excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- experience in document writing including status reports, recaps, industry/competitive analysis
- ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong project management skills with the ability to handle projects on strict timelines and budgets
- an ability to thrive under pressure and showcase outstanding problem solving skills

Job Duties
- working with vendors and partners to implement client events and promotions
- coordinate execution of client promotions and events, from planning to on-site set up and tear down
- regular ongoing communication with the clients and vendors
- planning and execution of various on-site activities and operations (i.e. catering, security, staffing, shipping, etc.)
- writing event guidebooks, activation recaps and other event related documents
- identify and manage outside vendors associated with implementing the overall projects/events
- inventory management of event materials (i.e. merchandise, signage assets, promotional elements, etc.)
- lead on-site staff including oversight of Brand Ambassadors and/or temporary staff
- liaise with internal Octagon teams and key client departments and client's agency partners in PR, advertising, social, non-profit/giving, etc. for related programming
- support additional Octagon accounts and/or projects as needed
