Job Description

Van Wyck & Van Wyck and Workshop are distinguished event companies headquartered in New York City, renowned for their innovative design and exceptional service in the event production industry. With over 20 years of expertise, these sister companies have established a reputation for delivering high-quality, creative, and meticulously produced events. Van Wyck & Van Wyck specializes in environmental design and event production, managing private celebrations such as weddings in unique locations like beaches and mountaintops as well as international destination events and not-for-profit functions. On the other hand, Workshop focuses on designing and producing engaging events that communicate compelling brand messages, enhancing brand loyalty and influencing consumer behaviors through memorable experiences.

The Event Designer role at Van Wyck is a key creative position within a dynamic and growth-oriented team, responsible for partnering with project managers and production staff to deliver aesthetically sophisticated and technically sound event designs. This role demands a high level of creativity, technical proficiency, and project management skill to move projects from initial concept through sourcing, fabrication, and final on-site installation. The position is well suited for mid-level or senior-level professionals who thrive under pressure and demonstrate leadership in managing complex design projects involving multiple stakeholders.

As an Event Designer, you will be tasked with leading design development, mentoring junior team members, collaborating cross-functionally, and ensuring all design work is both innovative and practical. Your work will span the creation of full-scale spatial environments, conceptual event elements, and detailed hospitality touchpoints. The ideal candidate will exhibit superior aesthetic judgment, strong communication skills, and an ownership mindset essential for steering projects successfully from conception to completion.

This role offers a competitive annual base salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000, reflective of candidate skills, experience, and education. Employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package that supports work-life balance and professional growth, including paid time off, health insurance with dental and vision plans, memberships for primary care and mental health support, a 401(k) plan with company match, cell phone stipend, commuter benefits, and gym reimbursement. Van Wyck & Van Wyck and Workshop are committed to equal employment opportunity, fostering an inclusive work environment that welcomes diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
