Positioned within the Event Services department at the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas, the Part-Time Custodian role reports directly to the Operations Director and Manager. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and operational readiness that Legends Global is known for during the wide range of events it supports. The custodial team plays a crucial role in ensuring all areas of the facility, ranging from general flooring and restrooms to locker rooms and event equipment storage, are consistently maintained to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. The Part-Time Custodian's responsibilities encompass not only routine janitorial duties but also assisting with operational tasks during events, guaranteeing emergency pathways remain unobstructed and that cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained.

To succeed in this position, candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills, a professional work ethic, and the physical capability to perform tasks that may require lifting of up to 25 pounds. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision are key to effective performance. The role also demands proactive efforts to improve housekeeping operations by streamlining workflows and cooperating closely with other departments to exceed service expectations. Job Duties

  • Maintain the cleanliness of all types of flooring throughout facility
  • Ensure that all areas remain free of trash
  • Restrooms, dressing and locker rooms are well maintained, and tile surfaces are dry and clean
  • Maintain all glass, steel, and office surfaces through dusting, cleaning and polishing
  • Responsible for the proper storage of facility event equipment when not in use
  • Ensures all emergency pathways are kept free and clear of obstructions
  • Responsible for keeping housekeeping equipment and tools in working condition and notifying supervisor of any broken parts
  • Ensures all equipment and supplies are cleaned and returned to their proper place when finished with them
  • Completes daily checklist to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our patrons attending each event
  • Assists clients with requests during events
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve housekeeping operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to meet customer expectations
  • Ability to work effectively as a team and with other building departments
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Operations Management
  • Other duties may be assigned
