The role available is for a Part-Time Custodian in the Event Services Department at the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas. Reporting to the Operations Director and Manager, this position entails maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the event venue, ensuring all areas are safe, clean, and welcoming for guests and staff. The custodian will be responsible for cleaning various flooring types, maintaining restrooms, dressing and locker rooms, and managing the storage and upkeep of event equipment. This role requires attention to detail in dusting, polishing, and cleaning glass, steel, and office surfaces. The custodian also ensures emergency pathways remain unobstructed and that housekeeping equipment is properly maintained and returned after use. The job includes completing daily checklists to uphold cleanliness and safety standards, assisting clients during events, and working cooperatively with other building departments to enhance the efficiency of housekeeping operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, professional work ethics, and the physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Job Duties

  • Maintain the cleanliness of all types of flooring throughout facility
  • ensure that all areas remain free of trash
  • keep restrooms, dressing and locker rooms well maintained, and tile surfaces dry and clean
  • maintain all glass, steel, and office surfaces through dusting, cleaning and polishing
  • responsible for the proper storage of facility event equipment when not in use
  • ensure all emergency pathways are kept free and clear of obstructions
  • keep housekeeping equipment and tools in working condition and notify supervisor of any broken parts
  • ensure all equipment and supplies are cleaned and returned to their proper place when finished with them
  • complete daily checklist to ensure the cleanliness and safety of patrons attending each event
  • assist clients with requests during events
  • demonstrate continuous effort to improve housekeeping operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to meet customer expectations
  • ability to work effectively as a team and with other building departments
