This association operates a variety of venues, including meeting rooms, auditoriums, courtyards, terraces, sports courts, and fitness centers, to host a wide range of activities and special events. The association aims to foster community engagement by supporting diverse programs and events that cater to the interests and needs of its members. As a respected entity in the community, it prioritizes safety, professionalism, and high standards in all operations. Employment for this role is part-time, with a maximum of 29 hours per week, classified as an hourly, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Event Operations Manager, or in their absence, the Activities Director.
The role of Events Crew Member is vital to the smooth execution of all Association events and functions. The position involves the setup, breakdown, transportation, storage, and routine maintenance of event furnishings, equipment, and supplies. The Events Crew Member ensures that all event spaces are prepared safely, professionally, and promptly to provide an enjoyable and seamless event experience for residents, guests, and staff. This role may also include basic audiovisual support, requiring familiarity with operating sound boards, speakers, and other AV equipment to facilitate live events and meetings.
Key responsibilities include preparing various event venues by moving tables, chairs, and staging equipment, posting signs, and assisting with decorations, followed by efficient tear-down and cleanup processes to restore venues to their original condition. The position demands adherence to safety programs, OSHA standards, and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. The role offers opportunities to work indoors and outdoors across multiple facility locations and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed to support event demands.
Physical demands are an integral part of this job, including lifting and moving objects weighing up to 80 pounds, bending, stooping, and working in diverse environmental conditions ranging from temperature variations to exposure to noise and event-related activities. Strong communication skills are necessary to interact with residents, guests, vendors, and team members professionally, ensuring excellent customer service standards. Additionally, basic computer skills are required to manage scheduling, reporting, and communication tasks effectively.
Overall, the Events Crew Member is a hands-on, dependable, and organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and contributes significantly to the success of community events by ensuring all logistical aspects are handled meticulously. This position is ideal for those with previous experience in event setup, hospitality, banquet operations, or related fields, and who possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
