The University is currently seeking a part-time Event Coordinator to join the Rise department. This role is designed for an individual who enjoys the dynamic environment of event planning and is capable of managing both on-campus and off-campus events with meticulous attention to detail. The Event Coordinator will work approximately 10 to 20 hours per week, providing essential support in orchestrating events from start to finish. The hourly pay for this position ranges from $21.25 at minimum to $26.59 at midpoint, reflecting the part-time, flexible nature of the job.
As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of various events, including the creation of invitations, selecting appropriate venues, and managing seating arrangements to ensure a smooth attendee experience. You will also negotiate and coordinate with various vendors such as florists, caterers, and print shops, ensuring all event aspects are customized to client specifications while staying within budget. Managing on-site contract staff and student workers will also be key duties to guarantee all events run efficiently and professionally.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and some event planning or coordination experience
- Or associate's degree and two years of event planning or coordination experience
- Or high school diploma or GED and four years of event planning or coordination experience
- Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week
- Successful completion of a background investigation
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
