The role of Event Coordinator Manager at Liberty Military Housing is a pivotal position within the Community Services Department. The manager oversees the event coordinators to ensure that high-quality, well-planned events are produced efficiently, supporting Liberty's mission of exemplary service and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include coaching and mentoring event coordinators, managing comprehensive aspects of event planning—from research to execution—and maintaining fiscal and risk responsibility. The Event Coordinator Manager supervises the creation of detailed timelines and production schedules while ensuring smooth communication and process flow. The role demands strong leadership abilities, effective team coordination, and proficiency in budget management, proposals, contracts, and negotiations. Working closely with military partners, vendors, and residents, the manager must ensure that events meet the unique needs of diverse communities, including military families and children. This position requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and involves occasional overnight travel to support events and training. The role is not only managerial but hands-on, involving administrative tasks and active participation in onsite event support, underscoring the company’s dedication to excellence and employee development. The annual pay range for this full-time role is between $70,304 and $73,000, with eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days, alongside generous paid time off including vacation, sick time, and 11 paid holidays. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the event industry specifically with planning and coordinating events
  • Degree in event planning, recreation, hospitality, marketing, communication, or related field
  • Certificate in event planning preferred
  • Experience managing team members or direct reports
  • Working knowledge or experience with military community preferred
  • Working knowledge or experience with children and children programs required
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and good professional judgment when dealing with difficult situations
  • Experience with budgets, proposals, contracts, and negotiation skills
  • Effective communication and interaction with military partners, vendors, residents, event attendees, and management
  • Proficiency with personal computers and various software applications including Microsoft Office, Publisher, InDesign, Photoshop, social media sites, Yardi, Payscan, Streampoint
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Ability to demonstrate quality writing and public speaking
  • Effective time and task management skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to travel regionally and overnight
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for long periods

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure that the Event Coordinators are developing and coordinating all aspects of the event planning process including research, design, planning, coordination, evaluation and are executed with quality and detail and produced based on department expectations
  • Support the Event Coordinators to ensure they are on target and prepared for meetings with the Community Services Director
  • Develop timelines, production schedules, and time blocking processes that are effective to meet expectations, deadlines, and support good communication and flow of the event and planning process
  • Demonstrate a high level of understanding to coach and train on the event experience for the event attendees based on demographic, needs assessment, and trends associated with military and local community
  • Assist Coordinators by ensuring agendas and minutes are completed, tasks assigned and followed through, and planning is on target per department expectations
  • Support the Community Services Director in coaching and mentoring Event Coordinators to focus on monthly goals and assist with coaching performance and annual review process
  • Support recruiting efforts by reviewing resumes, conducting phone interviews, onboarding new members, attending events with new coordinators for on-site training, and overseeing events during position gaps
  • Oversee the Event Coordinators' monthly schedules and Day of Coordinator Schedules
  • Perform various administrative and computer tasks including email communication and data input into software such as Payscan, Yardi, Word, Excel, Publisher, Indesign, Streampoint, and social media sites
