Job Requirements
- Five years or more experience in event planning and coordinating events
- degree in event planning, recreation, hospitality, marketing, communication, or related field
- certificate in event planning preferred
- experience managing team members
- working knowledge or experience with the military community preferred
- working knowledge or experience with children programs
- ability to demonstrate leadership skills and good professional judgment
- experience with budgets, proposals, contracts, and negotiation
- effective communication and interaction skills
- proficiency with personal computers and various software applications
- ability to operate a motor vehicle with valid license and insurance
- quality writing and public speaking skills
- effective time and task management skills
- flexibility to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
- ability to travel regionally and overnight
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in event planning and coordination

Job Duties
- Manage Event Coordinators within the Community Services Department
- coach and mentor Event Coordinators to produce high-quality, well-planned events
- oversee all aspects of event planning including research, design, coordination, and evaluation
- develop timelines, production schedules, and time blocking processes
- ensure agendas, minutes, and tasks are completed and followed through
- support recruitment efforts including resume review, phone interviews, and onboarding
- oversee monthly and Day of Coordinator schedules
- perform administrative and computer tasks including email communications and data entry into software systems
- attend events to support and train new Event Coordinators
- manage budget proposals, contracts, and negotiations
- communicate effectively with military partners, vendors, residents, and management
