Job Description

Populous is a renowned global design firm that specializes in creating environments where people love to come together. With an emphasis on exceptional architectural design and innovative event experiences, Populous has established itself as a leader in the design of iconic civic, sports, and entertainment venues worldwide. From stadiums that host the NFL Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup to groundbreaking live music venues and international multi-day festivals, Populous combines its extensive architectural expertise with a deep understanding of event planning to transform spaces into vibrant hubs of cultural celebration and entertainment.

Located in Denver, Colorado, Populous offers an exciting opportunity for an Event Coordinator I to join their dynamic team. This role is dedicated to providing essential administrative and project coordination support across multiple events, playing a key part in the successful execution of large-scale and intricate projects. Ideal for early-career professionals with 1-3 years of experience, this position offers a platform to grow technical and creative skills in a collaborative design environment focused on the event ecosystem.

The role involves assisting Project Managers and other team members in day-to-day project activities, from schedule management and vendor coordination to administrative duties such as meeting scheduling and task follow-ups. The Event Coordinator will help maintain up-to-date project schedules using tools like SmartSheet, ensuring smooth communication between staff, clients, and vendors. Additionally, the role includes researching vendor options, facilitating order placements, and managing client invoices efficiently. The position requires a flexible, organized, and detail-oriented individual capable of adapting to the demands of shifting priorities and multiple concurrent projects.

Employees at Populous benefit from a range of professional and personal development programs, a hybrid work schedule, summer hours, paid exams for architect licensure and certifications, and a charitable match program. Their wellness offerings include market-leading health and welfare benefits, reflecting the firm’s commitment to supporting employee well-being. With a projected salary range between $63,000 and $71,000 annually, this opportunity also offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, paid time off, and continuing education benefits.

As an Event Coordinator I at Populous, candidates can expect to work in a creative, high-energy environment that is at the forefront of cultural and architectural innovation. The firm has been recognized as the number one most innovative company in architecture by Fast Company and holds top rankings in cultural facilities, convention centers, and performing arts venue design according to BD+C and Interior Design Magazine. With a clear mission to draw people together through unforgettable experiences, Populous provides an inspiring workplace for those passionate about events, design, and collaborative teamwork.

Candidates interested in this role should be prepared for some travel commitments, including the possibility of being away from home for up to three weeks for event execution, involving long hours and weekend work. This further underlines the dynamic and hands-on nature of the position. Join Populous and contribute to designing not just buildings, but the experiences that happen within them, creating moments of joy and excitement that resonate globally.
