Job Requirements

  • Experience with scenic construction and carpentry
  • Ability to read and interpret design plans
  • Proven reliability and adaptability in dynamic environments
  • Skilled in paint and finishing techniques
  • Certified forklift and boom lift operator
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to mentor and train staff
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions

  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Capability to troubleshoot structural or fabrication challenges
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams and production staff
  • Forklift and boom lift operation certification

Job Duties

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of exhibits for the OC Fair and Event Center
  • Collaborate with designers and other departments to transform creative ideas into scenic elements, props, and displays
  • Adapt to fluctuating program needs including Imaginology, Heroes Hall, and OC Fair events
  • Produce visually engaging and educational exhibit environments
  • Maintain accurate records and inventories for shop operations
  • Mentor seasonal staff to ensure safe tool use and craftsmanship
  • Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines throughout the year
