As a family-owned business headquartered in Akron, Ohio, Famous Supply specializes in serving contractors, builders, and remodelers in several vital market segments, including HVAC, Plumbing, Building Products, Lighting, and Industrial/PVF (Pipe, Valves, and Fittings). The company is committed to fostering a family-oriented culture that values trust, communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement as its core values. Famous Supply takes pride in its 40 Fundamentals for Living the Famous Way, which reinforces its dedication to creating a supportive and engaging work environment. The company is also dedicated to diversity and inclusion, promoting equal employment opportunities, and striving to hire the best and most creative talent for its team.
The Marketing Event Coordinator position at Famous Supply is a dynamic role designed for individuals who thrive in organizing and managing the logistics behind corporate events and trade shows. This position reports directly to the Marketing Event Manager and is based in Akron, Ohio, with required travel within the company's operational footprint to attend various events. The Marketing Event Coordinator plays a crucial role in bringing the Famous Supply brand to life by planning, coordinating, and executing various corporate events, regional trade shows, customer engagement initiatives, and internal company gatherings. The role centers on detailed event logistics, vendor and venue management, timeline creation, and the smooth execution of events from initial planning stages through post-event reporting and analysis.
This role is ideal for candidates who are highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent project coordination skills. The Marketing Event Coordinator supports multiple facets of event planning including managing event timelines, securing vendors, coordinating shipping and promotional materials, and providing on-site assistance during events. Collaboration is key, as this position requires working closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, eCommerce, sales, purchasing, and operations to ensure seamless communication and delivery of event messaging and materials. The role also involves budget tracking, invoice processing related to marketing co-op activities, and maintaining organized records for all event-related activities.
Candidates should have at least an associate's degree in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field, complemented by 2-3 years of experience in event or project coordination. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and familiarity with project management tools is advantageous. The ideal Marketing Event Coordinator is proactive, a problem-solver, and enjoys working behind the scenes to make sure every event runs perfectly. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about event planning and looking to grow within a supportive and family-like corporate culture. Famous Supply rewards its associates with comprehensive benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off, maternity and paternity leave, a 401K employer match, bonus opportunities, and programs focused on learning and leadership development.
