Job Description

The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) is a longstanding Christian organization founded in 1887 by Pastor A.B. Simpson in New York City. Originally inspired by a deep compassion for the homeless, immigrants, and marginalized individuals, the C&MA has grown into a global movement dedicated to spreading the love and hope of Jesus Christ to those in need worldwide. With over 1,900 churches across the United States and nearly 700 workers in 70 countries, the C&MA engages in a variety of compassionate and developmental projects aimed at improving lives and communities both locally and internationally. The organization values a diverse and multicultural workforce to help fulfill its mission and actively promotes inclusivity throughout its hiring processes.

Located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, the Christian and Missionary Alliance is seeking a full-time Event Coordinator. This pivotal role operates under the direction of the Director for Events and primarily focuses on coordinating events with an emphasis on the biennial Council. The position is responsible for ensuring all aspects of event planning and execution align with the organization's mission and objectives while providing excellent support to event sponsors, attendees, and related stakeholders.

The Event Coordinator will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining relationships with Areas of Ministry and event sponsors to understand their goals and provide a high level of support for their events. Key responsibilities include conducting preliminary site visits to evaluate potential event venues, managing requests for proposals, and recommending optimal venues based on event needs. The role requires strong organizational skills to facilitate financial processing such as timely payments, revenue reconciliation, and accurate reporting to accounting.

In addition to logistical coordination for travel, lodging, meeting rooms, and audio/visual needs, the Event Coordinator will negotiate contracts with venues and ensure all contract terms are met, including room setups and meal functions. The role also involves using online software to manage registration sites, track balances, produce registration reports, and create an efficient and user-friendly registration experience for attendees.

This position also plays an important administrative role by developing and maintaining documentation such as procedure manuals, training materials, and reports. The Event Coordinator assists in managing contract workflows and ensures compliance with company policies. Another critical aspect of this role involves supporting the biennial General Council by contributing to site selection, contract negotiations, and managing all pre-event, onsite, and post-event logistics.

The successful candidate must deliver excellent communication at all times, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries from event delegates, coordinators, speakers, vendors, and the general public. This role offers a salary range of $49,000 to $59,000 annually and provides comprehensive benefits including health plans, retirement options, paid time off, and more. The Event Coordinator will be a valuable asset to the Christian and Missionary Alliance, helping to ensure seamless event experiences that support the organization's mission of offering tangible help and lasting hope to people in need worldwide.
