Job Description
Husch Blackwell LLP is a prominent full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple office locations across the United States, serving a diverse range of clients with both domestic and international operations. The firm is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, believing that teams built on these principles lead to superior outcomes. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, client service, and innovation, Husch Blackwell cultivates a purposeful and accountable culture that enhances both the firm and the broader communities it serves. The firm actively recruits, retains, and promotes talented lawyers and business professionals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, aiming to provide a supportive environment where professionals can grow and succeed long-term.
The Event Coordinator role at Husch Blackwell is a hybrid position available in the Milwaukee or St. Louis offices, requiring in-office presence at least three days per week, with consideration for internal applications from other office locations. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of both virtual and in-person firm and client events. Reporting to the Client Development department, the Event Coordinator collaborates extensively across various departments, engaging closely with attorneys, clients, and business partners. The role demands strong project management skills, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, adaptability in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, and a commitment to superior service.
Key responsibilities include managing all technical and logistical aspects of virtual event production, such as remote broadcasting and on-demand posting, as well as handling venue arrangements, rentals, catering, audio-visual needs, event communications, onsite facilitation, and post-event reporting. The Event Coordinator also conducts research to identify potential vendors and venues, drafts and distributes promotional email communications using the firm's CRM system, and prepares program materials including presentations, handouts, and promotional items. Onsite event support duties encompass setup and teardown, registration, speaker assistance, and coordination with venues and vendors. The role also involves preparing detailed RSVP, attendance, and survey reports, posting events on internal and external websites, maintaining event calendars and documentation, and providing additional event support as needed.
Candidates are required to have an associate’s degree with relevant coursework in event planning, hospitality, marketing, communications, or a related field, or a combination of education and commensurate work experience. They should have 1-3 years of relevant meeting and event planning experience, preferably within a professional services or agency environment, and experience with virtual event production tools is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is mandatory, and additional experience with email marketing software, website content management systems, HTML, and CRM software such as InterAction is considered advantageous. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and outstanding project management capabilities are essential for success in this role.
Husch Blackwell also emphasizes providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the application and employment process. Candidates are encouraged to submit cover letters and resumes when applying. The firm prides itself on its commitment to equal opportunity employment, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds including minorities, females, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.
