The Event Coordinator position within the University Events Office at Liberty University plays a critical role in managing and executing the institution's diverse event portfolio. This is a full-time role located onsite, focused on delivering high-quality event experiences that adhere to Liberty University's standards and safety protocols. The coordinator is responsible for overseeing event logistics, managing facility bookings, providing exceptional customer service to both internal academic departments and external entities, and supporting events on the day of execution. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining business relationships, designing event layouts, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with all university policies and legal requirements.

The role demands a proactive approach to event planning, from initial client consultation through post-event evaluation, ensuring continuous improvement in service and execution. The Event Coordinator also supports Liberty University's summer camp programs and conference center operations, contributing to a broad range of campus activities. Job Requirements

  • to obtain university-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver's license with a minimum of five years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record

Job Qualifications

  • four-year college degree in business, event management or sport management or professional work experience preferred
  • well-developed interpersonal communications skills
  • familiar with Microsoft Office computer software
  • knowledge and experience coordinating and organizing events, summer programming or managing facilities
  • senior event coordinator requires two years or more event logistics or event planning experience

Job Duties

  • develop and cultivate relationships with on-campus and external customers
  • oversee scheduling, logistical planning, and special resource coordination for all academic and departmental customers
  • develop event plans, timelines, layouts, and logistical documentation based on client needs and facility capabilities
  • maintain accurate records of event requests, including scheduling forms, event contracts and surveys
  • assist with logistical management of Liberty University's summer camp programming
  • ensure all events adhere to university policies, local regulations, safety protocols, and legal requirements
  • assist with facility management and operations of conference and event centers
  • remain abreast of all events held on campus
  • strictly adhere to university policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner
  • work effectively as a team member embracing and fostering the university's Christian model and mission
