Job Description
Bethany Children's Health Center is a pioneering healthcare institution specializing in pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care for children from newborns to young adults up to the age of 21. Located in Oklahoma, it proudly stands as the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility in the state and is nationally recognized for its exceptional quality of care. The facility holds a prestigious CARF accreditation and, since 2021, also boasts accreditation by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), which is officially recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This dual accreditation underscores Bethany Children's Health Center's commitment to delivering superior patient care through rigorous external evaluation and adherence to the highest standards in healthcare.
The center's multidisciplinary team works closely with patients and their families to help children regain and maximize their physical and cognitive potential. Beyond clinical care, the center provides comprehensive training and resources to families to ensure a smooth and confident transition from hospital care to home life. This holistic approach to pediatric healthcare reflects Bethany Children's Health Center's mission to support both the child and their family throughout the rehabilitation journey.
The Event Coordinator role at Bethany Children's Health Center plays a critical part in supporting and enhancing the growing portfolio of events across the organization. This position acts as the central hub for planning, communication, and execution of events hosted by multiple departments, including Corporate Communications, Foundation, and Community Engagement. The Event Coordinator’s main objective is to ensure every event is seamlessly organized, professionally executed, and aligned with the hospital's overall strategic goals. The position demands strong collaboration with hospital staff across various departments to provide creative and logistical guidance that brings each event to fruition.
Key responsibilities for the Event Coordinator include leading planning meetings, creating detailed timelines, assigning responsibilities, and maintaining alignment among all stakeholders involved in the event process. This role also offers essential advice on event feasibility and innovative approaches while coordinating with external vendors and internal departments such as Hospitality for room aesthetics and signage. The coordinator supports major hospital events by managing aspects such as internal signage, run-of-show, and vendor communications to enhance overall event quality.
Additionally, the Event Coordinator monitors internal departmental events and ensures timely communication about these events to departments like Communications, Marketing, Security, and IT. By providing teams with marketing resources, templates, and creative guidance, the coordinator helps departments effectively promote their events, thereby enhancing engagement across hospital staff and community members.
A vital part of the role involves working directly with the Communications team to draft event-related messaging, ensuring delivery occurs on a strategic timeline. The Event Coordinator also supports external relationships by assisting the Community Engagement team in securing sponsorships for events. This includes identifying potential partners, coordinating promotional efforts, and fulfilling sponsor benefit agreements, often initiating conversations with prospective sponsors.
Bethany Children's Health Center offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive and innovative work environment. Employees benefit from access to wellness programs, leadership development, tuition reimbursement, and in-service training. As a safety-sensitive employer under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA), the center emphasizes a safe work environment where employees’ health and safety are paramount.
Overall, the Event Coordinator position at Bethany Children's Health Center offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful events that enrich patient, family, and community experiences while supporting a leading healthcare institution dedicated to excellence in pediatric rehabilitation.
