Job Description
Happy Hospitality is a dynamic and creative restaurant group known for its art-inspired spaces that serve as ideal settings for social gatherings. The company operates popular venues including Happy Camper, Homeslice, and Paradise Park restaurants, each distinguished by vibrant murals, inventive lighting, and thoughtfully curated vignettes. Founded on a culture that emphasizes attention to detail, creativity, and a fun but focused atmosphere, Happy Hospitality aims to provide team members with not only a fulfilling work environment but also ample professional growth opportunities within the hospitality industry.
The company is actively expanding, seeking passionate individuals who are self-motivated and eager to contribute meaningfully beyond the traditional office environment. With a focus on fostering a community where employees enjoy their work and build genuine connections with colleagues and customers alike, Happy Hospitality values initiative and leadership. Its eateries celebrate a laid-back yet efficient culture underpinned by collaboration and a high standard for customer experience.
Currently, Happy Camper is recruiting an Events Coordinator to become an integral part of their events team. This full-time salaried role offers a competitive salary between $50,000 and $60,000 along with commission, positioning the successful candidate at the forefront of organizing and managing events across all Happy Hospitality’s restaurant locations. As the liaison between clients and internal leadership—including the General Manager, Director of Operations, and Chief Operating Officer—the Events Coordinator plays a vital leadership role within a fast-paced hospitality ecosystem.
The role demands exceptional organizational capabilities along with excellent communication skills. It requires managing venue bookings, handling client inquiries, negotiating contracts, and coordinating event logistics, all to ensure flawless execution. Beyond administrative duties, the position offers the chance to engage creatively by designing event proposals, customized menus, and floor plans tailored to client needs. Working alongside front and back of house teams, the Events Coordinator ensures that every event aligns with legal safety standards and meets the company’s high-quality expectations.
Happy Camper embodies a casual dress code and an office atmosphere brimming with creativity, energy, and a spirit of humor. Employees experience a balanced environment conducive to collaboration and individual focus, making it a unique place to build a rewarding career in restaurant event planning.
Applicants are encouraged to submit a resume accompanied by a cover letter or relevant portfolio samples such as food photography that demonstrate the candidate’s creative talents and professional style. This position represents an excellent opportunity for those looking to expand their experience in hospitality event coordination, sales, and client relationship management within a culturally rich and socially impactful restaurant group located in Chicago. Happy Camper embraces diversity and equality in the workplace, fostering an inclusive culture that celebrates all backgrounds and life experiences.
