Job Description
Gevity is a unique membership-based wellness and co-working club located in Austin, Texas, that centers its philosophy around four key pillars: Movement, Recovery, Work, and Community. Unlike traditional gyms that merely add a coffee bar as an afterthought, Gevity has crafted an innovative space where entrepreneurs, creators, operators, and professionals converge to excel in their work, nurture their physical health, and cultivate meaningful relationships. The club acts as a vibrant ecosystem, fostering a shared mindset among its community members beyond their physical proximity. Gevity's programming is meticulously designed to maintain the vitality and growth of this vibrant community, making it an inspiring hub for holistic wellbeing and productivity.
The role of the Part-Time Events Coordinator at Gevity is deeply embedded in this mission of community-building. This position is far more than logistics management; it is about creating memorable, engaging experiences that genuinely bring people together and reflect the unique spirit of Gevity. The Events Coordinator will take full ownership of the monthly events calendar from ideation through to execution. This includes planning and coordinating a variety of member programs, managing all event communications, orchestrating setup and breakdown processes, and maintaining a purposeful presence during events.
Day-to-day responsibilities also involve uploading events to relevant platforms such as PeopleVine and Luma, coordinating seamlessly with vendors and internal teams, and ensuring that each event resonates as an authentic 'Gevity event' rather than just an occurrence in the space. The role demands a balance between creative vision and attention to detail that guarantees smooth execution. Importantly, the Events Coordinator must continuously evaluate the success of events by tracking what works and what doesn’t, providing insightful feedback through monthly reports to inform future programming.
Ideal candidates are those with event planning experience, whether for large or small gatherings, who demonstrate strong organizational skills and proactivity. This role requires someone motivated who can operate independently without needing close supervision. The ability to genuinely care about community and understand the nuances that differentiate impactful events from those that fall flat is essential. Candidates must be creative yet diligent with the operational details that keep events running flawlessly. Being based in Austin and available for evening and weekend shifts as required is necessary for this role.
