Job Description
Young Life is a well-established Christian organization dedicated to evangelism and discipleship. Founded with the mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and support their spiritual growth, Young Life operates through a network of dedicated staff and volunteers who strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people. As a faith-based nonprofit entity, Young Life's operations and employment policies are deeply rooted in Christian values, emphasizing the proclamation of the gospel and living by biblical principles. The organization prioritizes hiring individuals who not only align with its religious beliefs but are also committed to ministering as servants of God. Young Life fosters a supportive and mission-driven workplace environment where employees and volunteers work collaboratively to create meaningful programs and events geared toward youth development in faith.
The role offered is for an Event Support Specialist, an integral part of Young Life's events team responsible for a wide array of duties that ensure successful event execution. This position fulfills a critical support function throughout all phases of an event, covering pre-event planning, on-site management, and post-event activities. The specialist helps facilitate smooth operations by managing materials, coordinating timelines, assisting with communications, and engaging in logistical tasks. Flexibility and reliability are essential, as the job involves variable hours including evenings and weekends, especially during event weeks, and may require physical tasks such as lifting boxes up to 15 pounds and running errands. Applicants should expect to collaborate with executive leadership and various stakeholders, maintaining a professional and calm demeanor under pressure. The position offers an hourly wage range from $19.00 to $23.80, adjusted based on education, experience, and location. The employment setting supports both administrative duties and hands-on event support, combining organizational skills with the energy needed to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality or event environment. This role is particularly suited for individuals who are self-starters, excellent communicators, and adept at multitasking within a faith-based mission context. Eligibility to work at Young Life requires a personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ and adherence to Young Life's Statement of Faith and organizational policies. This ensures that staff members actively contribute to the organization’s Christian ministry and mission both during and outside of working hours. Joining Young Life means engaging in transformative spiritual work while developing professional skills in event coordination and nonprofit ministry support.
