This specific role based at the L.RCK-Markham, AR Michaels store, is centered around event coordination, customer service, and operational support. The position focuses primarily on planning, coordinating, and facilitating diverse in-store events including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other creative gatherings. The goal is to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience that encourages creativity for guests of all ages, ranging from young children to seniors. Responsibilities include designing entertaining, interactive craft projects and activities, face painting, and managing party add-ons like balloons and goody bags while ensuring company standards are met. The role also involves communicating effectively with clients and team members, managing administrative tasks such as emails and phone calls, and adapting event plans based on customer feedback.

Moreover, this position supports the daily operational duties essential to the store’s function such as unloading trucks, stocking shelves, maintaining store cleanliness and recovery standards, and providing fast, friendly customer service, including assistance with product location and checkout processes. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Retail or customer service experience required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting and stocking tasks
  • Ability to move throughout the store including reaching high shelves and climbing ladders
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and early mornings
  • Must comply with federal, state, and local employment regulations
  • Ability to maintain store cleanliness and safety standards
  • Willingness to engage with customers and support store events
  • Capable of performing administrative tasks such as email and phone communication
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and teamwork

  • Experience in retail or customer service

  • Familiarity with store operational tasks and merchandising
  • Cross training in custom framing is preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes
  • Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities such as face painting
  • Facilitate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons according to company standards
  • Communicate event details with clients and store team members
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and handling paperwork
  • Set up, break down, and clean before and after events
  • Help customers shop and locate products
  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience
  • Support Omni channel processes including BOPIS and Ship From Store
  • Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes
  • Maintain merchandise recovery and store cleanliness
  • Support shrink and safety programs
  • Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures
  • Remain positive, respectful, and promote organizational values
  • Cross train in custom framing selling and production
  • Perform daily store cleanliness tasks
