Job Description
Proof of the Pudding is a well-established catering company based in Atlanta that has been delivering innovative menus, services, design expertise, and exceptional event experiences for over four decades. With a reputation as a preferred caterer for more than 50 prominent venues around Atlanta, Proof of the Pudding has built a legacy of excellence and creativity in the culinary and event planning industry. The company focuses on a wide range of events including weddings, holiday parties, corporate retreats, and social gatherings, providing tailored off-premise catering solutions that highlight quality, presentation, and client satisfaction.
The Off-Premise team at Proof of the Pudding leads the charge in crafting remarkable culinary experiences at various event locations. This team plays a critical role in managing the logistics and execution aspects of off-site events, ensuring that every detail from food preparation to event set-up is flawless. Currently, the company is seeking additional Event Chefs to enhance its off-premise event services by providing skilled culinary support and food production expertise on-site.
Event Chefs at Proof of the Pudding operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, requiring a blend of culinary skills, organizational ability, and customer service aptitude. Their primary responsibility is to oversee the preparation and set-up of food at events, ensuring everything adheres to the event's Banquet Event Order (BEO). These professionals may be asked to help pre-event at the corporate warehouse by gathering necessary food items, checking quantities, loading trucks, and managing rentals before traveling to event locations throughout the greater Atlanta area. Alternatively, some assignments may require Event Chefs to report directly to the event site.
Reporting to the Culinary Captain or Culinary Manager, Event Chefs assist with all aspects of food production, including hors d'oeuvres, food stations, plated meals, buffets, drink and dessert stations, and event breakdown. They also support pre-event setup by organizing equipment, linens, tables, chairs, and ensuring the kitchen area meets cleanliness and organizational standards. Emphasizing customer engagement, Event Chefs demonstrate professional service skills while interacting with guests, making sure that client expectations are met or exceeded.
This part-time hourly role demands adaptability, a strong work ethic, and excellent time management skills. Candidates should be physically capable of performing tasks involving lifting items up to approximately 40 pounds and prolonged periods of standing and moving through event spaces. Proof of the Pudding values integrity, teamwork, communication, and dedication in their staff, encouraging employees to take initiative, contribute ideas, and maintain high ethical standards.
The company fosters a supportive work environment that emphasizes safety, security, and respect. Employees benefit from free daily meals, flexible scheduling, provided uniforms, parking facilities, and opportunities for professional growth within the organization. Proof of the Pudding is committed to diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from candidates without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
