Job Description
The Offutt Event Center, a prominent facility operating under Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) guidelines, serves as a vital component of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities for the United States Air Force and Space Force communities. The center is designed to enhance the quality of life for military personnel, their families, and the broader installation community by providing a wide range of social, cultural, and recreational programs. As part of the Department of the Air Force, the Offutt Event Center plays an instrumental role in fostering a welcoming and engaging environment that supports leisure, social, and military functions in a manner that aligns with Department of the Air Force Instruction (DAFI) standards.
This position specifically focuses on the oversight and management of the Warhawk Community Center (WHCC) programs within the Offutt Event Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing diverse and innovative events and programs that address the needs and interests of the installation-wide community. These events are carefully designed to provide high-quality recreational and social experiences, incorporating valuable feedback from patrons to continuously refine offerings. Essential duties include creating comprehensive schedules for daily, weekly, and monthly activities, and coordinating the procurement of necessary supplies and services to support these programs.
A critical aspect of this role is financial management, where the candidate will develop both Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and Appropriated Fund (APF) budgets, maintain accountability of assets, and analyze financial performance to ensure accurate recording of revenues and expenditures. Utilization of Air Force systems such as SAIS, IBPS, Aloha, and RecTrac is required to manage purchases and inventories correctly and maintain internal controls. This role also encompasses workforce management responsibilities, including staff training, performance evaluation, scheduling, leave approval, and maintaining employee time sheets through the SETS system. The ability to handle employee performance issues and recommend awards is essential.
Operating under direct supervision of the Community Services Flight Chief, this role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, exceptional organizational skills, and the capability to work under pressure to meet stringent deadlines. The incumbent must maintain stringent cleanliness standards for the facility and ensure mandatory training requirements are fulfilled by all employees. This position is designated as a Drug Tested Designated Position and requires the successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation. The nature of the job necessitates flexibility, as it includes irregular work hours spanning evenings, weekends, and holidays. Furthermore, the role requires a valid driver27s license, a position of trust, and the ability to obtain a Child National Agency Check with Inquiries satisfactorily.
Candidates interested in this role should possess a strong foundation in military MWR business operations, successful personnel management experience, knowledge of federal business policies, and marketing expertise to increase program participation. Effective communication skills, both written and oral, are critical to explain and present ideas clearly across various stakeholders. The opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the morale and welfare of the Air Force community highlights the significance of this position.
Overall, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding career in a unique government environment, emphasizing community engagement, financial acumen, and staff leadership. The Offutt Event Center ensures a supportive workplace that values dedication to public service and the principles of the American republic. Additionally, the candidate must meet federal employment conditions, including residency and Selective Service registration where applicable. This is a stable position with potential for multiple hires, firmly embedded in MWR activities supporting Air Force and Space Force personnel and their families.
