Job Description

The Kitchen & The Studio is a dynamic and innovative hospitality establishment known for its exceptional culinary experiences and vibrant event settings. This company prides itself on blending exquisite food offerings with meticulously coordinated events, ensuring guests receive top-tier service and memorable experiences. The Kitchen is recognized not only for its culinary expertise but also for its commitment to fostering a positive work culture and maintaining high standards across all aspects of its operations. They continuously strive to uphold their reputation by employing dedicated professionals who are passionate about hospitality, event management, and teamwork.

The role of the Event Captain at The Kitchen & The Studio is crucial to the seamless execution of day-of-event operations. This leadership position requires an individual who is both detail-oriented and visionary, capable of managing front-of-house (FOH) team members while adhering to the planned event details with precision. The Event Captain acts as a steward of The Kitchen brand, embodying its values and culture while motivating and guiding the team to deliver excellent hospitality. This role demands a high level of responsibility, including attendance at Leadership meetings, managing daily shifts that span days, nights, and weekends, and occasionally stepping in to support emergency situations such as dropped shifts. The Event Captain is expected to champion a 'One Team, One Dream' philosophy, fostering collaboration and a supportive environment among the staff.

Successful candidates for this role will bring at least one year of experience in a similar capacity, demonstrating the ability to manage and train team members effectively. They are self-motivated professionals who excel in time management and organizational skills. Creativity in problem-solving and conflict resolution is a must, as the role often requires quick thinking to overcome operational challenges and enhance service delivery. Event Captains must also maintain an acute attention to detail, with the ability to assess both the interior and exterior aesthetics of the event space and make swift improvements to uphold the brand’s standards.

This position demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds, reflecting the hands-on nature of the job. Additionally, the Event Captain must maintain an active ServSafe (food) certification, underscoring the importance of health and safety compliance in food service operations. Exceptional customer service skills are a cornerstone of this role, as the Event Captain is often the primary point of contact ensuring that guests feel welcomed and valued. This leadership role is not just about managing a team but also about being a role model who inspires and elevates the overall event experience.

The Kitchen & The Studio offers a rewarding work environment where individuals are encouraged to embrace both the intricate details and the broader vision of each event.
