The Event Beverage Server position at Lé al Hospitality Group plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service that aligns with the company's high standards of hospitality. This role focuses on creating a welcoming environment where guests feel valued and attended to during their visit. The Event Beverage Server is responsible for preparing and serving beverages responsibly and efficiently, ensuring all guest interactions are positive and memorable. This role requires attentiveness to guest needs, clear communication skills, and adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines, including age verification and responsible alcohol service. The position involves greeting guests warmly, offering knowledgeable recommendations from beverage menus, and managing transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems. Additionally, the role includes maintaining cleanliness and organization in beverage preparation areas, following cash handling procedures, and upholding state liquor laws.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must possess and maintain a current ABC-approved California Responsible Beverage Server Training Certificate
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California Food Handlers Certificate
  • Previous beverage serving experience with working knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor, and common drink recipes required
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point-of-sale (POS) terminal/device
  • Possess an outgoing, friendly personality, positive attitude, and strong communication skills
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance, including adherence to department dress code
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • Must be available to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours of business
  • Able to work under pressure and remain calm to resolve problems using good judgment
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance
  • Possess honesty and integrity

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous beverage serving experience with working knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor, and common drink recipes required

Job Duties

  • Greet every guest warmly with a prompt and friendly greeting as they enter
  • Present beverage menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverage options
  • Provide timely, accurate, and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests
  • Prepare/pour bar beverages as ordered and consistent with the Company’s standard beverage recipes
  • Upsell beverage specials and food items as directed by management
  • Check the identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of an alcoholic beverage
  • Handle the house bank and follow all cash handling procedures
  • Record all beverage orders accurately and immediately into the POS system
  • Accurately collect payments from guests, process credit card charges, and make changes as needed
  • Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient beverage preparation and promotion of beverages
  • Maintain high standards for safety and cleanliness in all areas of the beverage area, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
  • Wash, sterilize, and polish glasses and dishes in the absence of the dishwasher and/or as directed by the manager
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from a guest to management
  • Complete all side work duties, including the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by the state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated people
  • Keep equipment in order and stored in its appropriate areas
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the Manager of the property
  • Drive company golf carts and other vehicles as needed, at an appropriate speed and with caution
  • Practice safe working habits and take required breaks and meal periods in a timely manner
  • Accurately and promptly report tips to the Manager for payroll and tax purposes
  • All other tasks as required by management
