Job Description
Proof of the Pudding is an acclaimed and award-winning catering company known throughout the Southeast for its unwavering commitment to crafting quality culinary concepts from scratch. With a notable reputation for excellence, the company has successfully expanded its services into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality. This expansion allows Proof of the Pudding to provide elevated concessions and premium offerings to prestigious venues such as collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, international boat shows, professional sports teams, and more. This blend of top-tier service and culinary creativity positions Proof of the Pudding as a leader in the catering industry, especially within the dynamic realm of sports and entertainment hospitality.
As the operator of concessions at Wake Forest University, Proof of the Pudding is currently seeking dedicated and professional Bartenders to join their Premium team. This role is ideal for individuals who are available for all Wake Forest home football games, as well as the weeks leading up to these events. In addition to football, Wake Forest hosts a variety of other athletic and special events throughout the year, offering diverse opportunities for team members to engage in different experiences. The position is seasonal and part-time, shaped by the business demands dictated by athletic events at the university's scenic campus and stadium venues in North Carolina.
The Bartender role involves much more than just mixing drinks. Candidates can expect to be responsible for both pre- and post-bar setup and breakdown duties, which include timely preparation such as icing down products and ensuring the bar is fully stocked. Throughout the event, excellent communication with bar back personnel is essential to assist with replenishment and maintain smooth operations. A focus on delivering exceptional customer service is paramount, from greeting guests warmly to being attentive to their needs during the event.
The role also demands adherence to all federal, local, and venue alcohol policies to ensure compliance and safety. After an event, bartenders will clean the bar area, discard excess ice, record closing inventory, and properly store all inventory as directed by management. This position is not only about technical skills but also about embodying the company’s core values, including business acumen, dedication, ethics and integrity, safety and security, teamwork, communication, initiative, adaptability, and service orientation.
Employees in this role will work in a physically active environment, moving throughout the football stadium and other venues, sometimes over varied terrains. Physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 pounds are regularly required, emphasizing the need for stamina and physical readiness. Uniform adherence is also a critical aspect of maintaining the company’s professional appearance and service standards.
Part-time hourly wages are offered for this position, with schedules varying based on business demand. This role primarily operates as a premium hosted bar position where tipping is optional for guests. Employees will benefit from perks such as free meals during shifts, on-the-job training applicable industry-wide, and opportunities for career advancement within Proof of the Pudding, which prioritizes growing its talented team members. Working at some of North Carolina’s most scenic and iconic facilities adds an attractive element to the job setting.
Proof of the Pudding is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering inclusion and diversity within its workforce. All job applicants will be considered fairly without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
