Job Description
TOCA Soccer is a dynamic and passionate sports organization committed to creating a welcoming and inspiring environment centered around the sport of soccer. At TOCA, the mission is to serve as a "third home" for guests, where they can engage with the sport in a manner that fosters learning, growth, and enjoyment. This sports-focused establishment prides itself on inclusivity and community, providing opportunities for individuals of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, to rediscover their love for the game and to compete in a supportive atmosphere. TOCA emphasizes the importance of community by offering a space that not only encourages athletic development but also nurtures interpersonal connections and memorable experiences.
The culture at TOCA Soccer is built around five core values that define what it means to be a TOCA teammate: playing hard by giving full effort in all endeavors, caring deeply about teammates and guests, growing together as a community, striving for excellence in every aspect of work and play, and creating awesome experiences that leave lasting impressions. These principles guide every interaction and contribute to a vibrant, high-energy environment where guests and staff alike feel valued and motivated.
This job posting is for the role of Event Bartender & Concessions Server at the TOCA Soccer Center located in Toledo, Ohio. The position operates on a 1099 Independent Contractor basis, offering flexible, event-based scheduling that primarily covers afternoons, late evenings, and weekends. This flexibility is ideal for individuals seeking to balance work with other commitments or looking to earn supplemental income through contract gigs that fit their lifestyle.
The Event Bartender & Concessions Server position is integral to the success and atmosphere of TOCA’s community events, such as MMA fights, tournaments, and league matches. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an engaging and enjoyable game-day atmosphere, serving guests with enthusiasm and professionalism. Notably, the role focuses on service and hospitality rather than food preparation, with duties centered around opening and serving beer, distributing pre-packaged snacks, and ensuring a seamless customer service experience.
Because this position entails serving alcoholic beverages, compliance with legal regulations is critical. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess excellent observational skills for age verification purposes, and consistently adhere to Ohio state liquor laws. This adds an important element of responsibility to the role, underscoring the commitment to safety and legal standards at TOCA events.
Additionally, the role involves operating a digital Point-of-Sale (POS) system for cash and card transactions, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the concessions area, and managing supplies efficiently to keep service running smoothly throughout events. The physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting and moving supplies weighing over 30 pounds, and maintaining a high-energy presence in a sometimes loud and fast-paced environment.
Ideal candidates will bring strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for working with diverse crowds in engaging sports-related settings. While previous experience in bartending, event serving, or similar hospitality roles is a plus, it is not mandatory. TOCA provides an inclusive work environment that embraces diversity and equal opportunity, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds without discrimination.
This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting community hub that celebrates sport, fun, and connection. By joining the TOCA team, individuals gain access to competitive event pay, the chance to work in a lively and passionate environment, and the freedom of a flexible schedule that respects their personal time and availability. This is an excellent fit for those who thrive in dynamic settings and enjoy contributing to memorable experiences for both guests and team members.
