Job Description
Austin Country Club is a prestigious and historic private club located in Austin, Texas. Established in 1899, it is one of the oldest clubs in Texas and is recognized as the home of the renowned golf instructor Harvey Penick. The club is dedicated to providing its members and guests with exceptional experiences in a family-focused, tradition-rich environment. Set on a sprawling 180-acre property along the picturesque Colorado River, just 10 miles west of downtown Austin, Austin Country Club offers a unique and beautiful setting for recreational and social activities. The club prides itself on a fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven work environment that emphasizes outstanding service and employee appreciation through competitive pay, excellent perks, and opportunities for professional development.
The Austin Country Club is currently seeking a dedicated and professional full-time Event Bartender to join its esteemed bar team. This role is essential in delivering first-class service to the club’s members and guests during events. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up portable bars at club events, preparing garnishes and ingredients, and ensuring the bar is stocked and organized to maintain smooth operations. Beyond these setup tasks, the bartender will expertly mix and serve both classic and craft cocktails, maintaining accuracy in records while adhering strictly to health and safety standards. The position requires collaboration with fellow team members and managers to uphold the club’s high standards of excellence.
The Event Bartender will have a flexible schedule that encompasses weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours depending on event needs and occasional split shifts (doubles). The position pays $16 per hour plus an additional service charge ranging from $17 to $30. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage (eligible after 30 days), basic life insurance, short and long-term disability benefits, 5 paid time off days after 90 days, a 401k match up to 4% after 90 days, referral bonuses up to $1,500 per year, and free duty meals. This role offers both seasoned bartenders and those looking to advance their careers a chance to work in an upscale environment that values teamwork, professionalism, and superior guest service.
