Job Description

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Phoenix, Arizona, is part of an international evangelical movement within the universal Christian Church. The Event Attendant position at the Kroc Center is a vital customer service role that acts as the direct liaison between event guests and the facility. This non-exempt, on-call role requires flexibility and a cooperative spirit as the Event Attendant hosts various rentals, birthday parties, and special events, ensuring each guest has an engaging and memorable experience. Key responsibilities include supervising events to maintain safety and order, coordinating event setup and breakdown, assisting guests, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the venue. The role requires excellent communication skills to interact effectively with community leaders, guests, staff, and other stakeholders.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts is essential, as is the ability to work independently without direct supervision, while adhering to The Salvation Army's policies. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
ability to maintain a non-judgmental and professional attitude
strong customer service skills
ability to work independently and adhere to policies
flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends, holidays, and on-call
excellent communication skills
ability to pass criminal background check
physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, lifting up to 75 pounds
proficiency with computer and telephone operations
completion of Protecting the Mission training
able to communicate effectively in English

Job Duties

Provide excellent internal and external customer service
create a positive experience for patrons through professional and courteous behavior
practice vigilant supervision at all times of the event, rental or party
review all paperwork for event, rental or party information and be sure it is understood prior to each event hosted
responsible for maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the assigned venue including set up, breakdown and cleaning of equipment and activities
maintain facility on schedule by ensuring that events and activities begin and end on time
generate legible and accurate accident, incident and event reports as required and forward reports to the supervisor
comply with Salvation Army Protecting the Mission guidelines
maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers and managers
ensure guest safety by immediately rectifying and/or reporting any potentially unsafe conditions
assist and direct guests within the facility to avoid crowded conditions and maximize service efficiency
be knowledgeable of the mission and programs at the Kroc Center and able to communicate that information with clients
other duties as assigned
ensure all parties are set up and ready prior to guest arrival
check-in party guests at the Welcome Desk
set the tone of a party by providing a high level of energy and fun
assist with the serving of food and beverages to guests for birthday parties
supervise flow of party rooms
thoroughly clean and reset the party room after guests have left
remain visible and available to the needs of guests
inventory party room supplies and prepare items such as signage and decorations
