Job Description

Spring Lake Park Schools is a dynamic and vibrant public school district serving approximately 6,200 students from the suburban communities of Blaine, Fridley, and Spring Lake Park in the northern Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. Known for its commitment to personalized learning and innovative education strategies, the district emphasizes creating a culture of creativity and student engagement through human-centered design thinking. At the core of their mission is a focus on high expectations and high achievement for all students, with a strong dedication to equity, excellence, and meeting the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of every child.

Spring Lake Park Schools prides itself on its collaborative environment, where teachers, staff, and district leaders work interdependently to continuously improve educational practices and student outcomes. The district encourages a flexible and inclusive culture that promotes innovation and provides the freedom for educators to design tailored learning experiences that support student success and belonging.

The role of Community Education/Building Supervisor at Spring Lake Park Schools offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting educational environments outside of regular school hours. This casual position primarily involves supervising school buildings during after school, evening, and weekend hours to ensure safety, security, and smooth operation of community education programs and facility rentals. Typical shifts are from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with hours varying based on scheduled events.

As a Building Supervisor, you are expected to uphold the district's values by promoting an environment where every student can learn and succeed. The position requires someone who believes strongly in the power of collaboration between staff and administration, fostering continuous improvement in student and family engagement as well as creating equitable opportunities for all. The supervisor acts as a critical link during out-of-hours periods by providing excellent customer service to patrons, maintaining security through vigilant monitoring, and supporting various activities including meetings, athletic practices, tournaments, and special events.

Strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. The ideal candidate will be technology savvy and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while managing frequent interruptions. The district offers additional training opportunities including First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications to ensure safety standards are upheld. This role provides a flexible work schedule ideal for individuals seeking casual employment at a competitive hourly rate between $11.41 and $15.00.

Spring Lake Park Schools is committed to diversity and equal employment opportunity. The district actively seeks candidates from all backgrounds and is dedicated to creating an inclusive community where everyone has the chance to contribute and thrive. Employees benefit from a positive work atmosphere centered on respect, collaboration, and a shared mission to foster high academic achievement and personal growth for every student. If you are looking to join a forward-thinking educational organization that values innovation and student-centered practices, the Community Education/Building Supervisor position offers an excellent pathway to make a meaningful impact within the local education landscape.
