The MN Landscape Arboretum, an arm of the University of Minnesota, is currently looking for Event Support Attendants to join their dynamic team. These positions are temporary and short-term, focusing primarily on event support at the beautiful Arboretum site located in Chaska, MN. Working under the supervision of the Private & Corporate Events Manager, candidates will be involved in numerous outdoor and occasionally indoor events happening from May to October, with schedules that often include evenings and weekends. This role is critical in ensuring smooth operations for weddings, summer music series, and other public and private outdoor events at the Arboretum.

Event Support Attendants play a pivotal role in the seamless execution of day-of event logistics, including setup, organization, and adherence to event-specific protocols. Among their responsibilities are driving golf carts safely across the vast property, handling seating arrangements, maintaining privacy for outdoor ceremonies, and redirecting general Arboretum guests during event hours. They act as a liaison point by communicating client or vendor needs clearly with relevant Arboretum staff members to guarantee the event's success. This role demands flexibility and responsiveness, as attendants must also adapt to weather changes or facility updates that may impact the event schedule or layout.

In addition to event-specific tasks, attendants support signature Arboretum Events and assist with indoor event preparations as required. Their work is fundamental in maintaining the Arboretum grounds, ensuring cleanliness, and setting the tone for a memorable guest experience. The job requires physical stamina and problem-solving skills, underscoring the importance of candidates being physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and thinking quickly to resolve unexpected challenges.

This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in event management support, love working outdoors in a lively setting, and want to contribute to creating special, lasting memories for clients and visitors alike. Prospective candidates will benefit from an inclusive work environment that values integrity, collaboration, and dedication to service excellence at one of Minnesota's most prestigious botanical venues.
